A Sense of Wonder is an educational organization dedicated to providing nature and arts programs to elementary school age students in the Monterey County area. Our programs are meant to stimulate a student's interest in science and the arts by complimenting and enhancing material typically covered in the classroom. Our programs are age appropriate and based on educational standards. Activities and hands-on projects are an integral part of our programs. Most of all, our programs are meant to be fun and offer an experience your child will remember forever!

Learn about strange and unusual desert plants and animals.
Learn some desert songs and poetry.
Make your own planter and create a miniature cactus garden to take home with you!.
Butterflies of the Monterey Area

A fun introduction to the world's most beautiful insects, BUTTERFLIES!
Learn about their unusual senses while feeding live butterflies.
Observe their magical metamorphosis.
Learn the habitat song and participate in a play of butterfly intrigue complete with camouflage costumes, a pollination dance and PREDATION! We will be making a movie of this to show your friends and family.
Create your own planter and butterfly garden to attract butterflies to your home.

Come and bake bread, YUM, YUM!
We will learn the history of wheat and other grains while growing your own grain garden.
How did wheat come to America? Here is a clue, it is not native to this continent.
Learn the life of a pioneer: thresh wheat, mill flour, watch yeast grow, knead dough, and best of all eat your fresh baked bread with homemade butter!
